Founded in 1989, the Pinelands Alliance (PPA) is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the Pinelands of New Jersey. PPA protects the land, water, plants, wildlife, and historic resources of New Jersey’s Pinelands National Reserve. The PPA engages thousands of people each year in actions to protect the wildest place in New Jersey.
In Little Egg Harbor, at the edge of the Pines, Pinelands Brewing crafts approachable ales of historic character. Inspired by their surroundings, the spirit of the Pinelands inspires everything they do. Their philosophy is simple- maintain an unyielding devotion to quality, and cultivate a fresh approach on the classics, all while having fun doing it.
The Tour de Pines celebrates Pinelands Month in October, and offers four single-day bicycle tours of the New Jersey Pinelands. Proceeds benefit the Pinelands Preservation Alliance, a nonprofit organization working to protect the resources of the New Jersey Pinelands since 1989. There is no other bike ride like this in New Jersey!
Trenton Cycling Revolution (TCR) is an all-volunteer community organization, originally founded in the 1990s. TCR’s mission is to create a safe and healthy environment for bicyclists in Greater Trenton through education, engagement, and advocacy. In 2022, TCR opened the Community Outreach Garage (COG), Trenton’s only bike shop and a hub for riders of all types – from transportation cyclists to enthusiastic riders and mechanics. This volunteer-run and staffed shop has become a hub where people gather, learn bike maintenance, and keep their bikes rolling.
